I hope this helps in your consideration and also technology knowledge! i think these are pretty cool for 15$ haha If i could sync my phone to a 46 or 55 inch flat screen and game on it, i dont even need my xbox or playstation anymore :P jk jk the games arent as good on phone but this is pretty sweet in my opinion. Ive also put a bunch of ****************'s where it seems applicable to your apple products. I was simply offering some alternative suggestions that I had not seen listed.Īs for AirPlay and Mac support for apple devices, I have copied the specs from the cheaper device for review. That is up to you to research and determine. Some brands also may be more reliable than others. I know for a fact that AirPlay IS SUPPORTED by some of them but your right, maybe not all. In this case, it claims to support AirPlay with this cheaper one. In either scenario, the TVs should wake on use and not require a remote control or changing the HDMI inputs.įor the cheaper one, under the spec section, it shows what is/isnt supported. These 'kits' include Intel Unite for wireless content sharing, but also have spare USB ports to which capture devices like Magewell or ClickShare can be attached. Any PC or web-based collaboration service can be run directly on the Intel NUC and the installed applications and UI can be simplified and locked down with the included QuickLaunch SE software.

Built around an Intel NUC, the solution is small but powerful and can certainly drive two full HD displays. If your company uses other or multiple platforms for video collaboration, then Logitech GROUP Kit or Logitech CONNECT Kit, could be a better solution or act as a reference platform for developing your own solution.

The Logitech SmartDock hardware is ready for dual display for when that update is released. Current Skype Room System software supports only a single display output, but in a few months dual display support will be released by Microsoft. Content sharing via HDMI cable is supported for both in-call and local meetings. Skype Room Systems are purpose-built for Skype for Business and provide the greatest ease-of-use in the meeting room.

The Logitech SmartDock + Surface Pro is a great option if your company uses Skype for Business as it's platform for video collaboration. Having users switching HDMI inputs is the last thing you want happening in a conference room. To tie it all together, could be best served by a dedicated PC in the meeting room. That said, is there anything I can get to tie everything together? universal remote to control both displays, video conference and still have access to domain network (heard the Logitech Smart Dock neuters the Surface Pro 4 so that it can only do video conferencing and nothing else), and an automatic switch to go between the desktop and any connecting clients' laptops? that would be attached to one of the displays using an HDMI cable.Ī desktop that would drive both displays connects via 2 HDMI cables, one for each display. The components that have come across my research table is the Logitech Group with the newly released dock station and Surface Pro 4 for the video conferencing solution.

is there any way to avoid having to switch between HDMI inputs so that it's more automatic? I've been called in many times because it was on the wrong input and no one knew how to press a button on the remote to switch. current setup requires switching between HDMI inputs and connecting via an HDMI cable with a variety of adapters. I've been tasked with a conference room makeover and the only thing on the want list is dual Samsung flat panel devices, video conferencing, and the capability to easily connect clients' laptops (mac and PC) without having to be too tech savvy.
